The doctor disposition on "my friend the murderer" by Arthur conan doyle

This short story is talked about the prisoner on the prison in Australia, and he is the leader of the Bluemansdyke gang. He betrayed his comrades to avoid the gallows. In the jail, he tells his story to the surgeon doctor in the jail. He dead killed by Thomas “Tattooed Tom” Grimthorpe.

From the first of the story, we can see the dialogue between doctor and jailer, they talked about the prisoner. The prisoner for doctor do his job. The jailer give the best prisoner to the doctor, but the the is not like with prisoner who give by jailer. He disappointed with the jailer, but the jailer give the best prisoner to the doctor , and the doctor was excited with that.

Based on the story, we can see the characterization of the doctor in this story. He is the elect person, and he is a person who always want something better. This character is a confused character, he always made people confused with what he is want. The other side the doctor is a curious person, he curious with the prisoner who give by the jailer. The doctor have another characterization, he is a dedication person for his job(Ms. Nenden Rikma Dewi), and he will do anything for fuel his dedication.

When plot grow fast on "my friend the murderer" by Arthur conan doyle

The story opens with a dialogue between two people, which is a doctor and head-warder who talk about a condition of the prisoner in an Australia prison, head-warden explain that there are a prisoner which is maybe the doctor will interested about him, the prisoner names are "wolf tone" Maloney and doctor knew him from a ghostly story about a story of a murderer which is Maloney involved.

So the doctor comes to his prison to know more about Maloney, and that's when the story begins to grow bigger when Maloney seems like try to make doctor afraid and worried. Not long after that when he moved to Dunedin's jail, the reason I say plot on this story fast because just a bit of dialogue with doctor in Australia jail the story directly told that he moved to another country without giving the reason why I didn't find something related to this case is he moved because he scare doctor or he moved because it's usual that a prisoner moved to another jail.

Conflict on this story started in the past and then continue at the end of the story, which is causes major character like Maloney dead because what he has been done in the past.

Desiree baby was taking when civil war is begin. when it happens, there was some kind of race struggle against black people and white people, at that time, the black people used to be a slavery race because they are not purely from America but they are came from Africa. the black people race was a secondary class because the "black" word refer to outdated, unrepresentative label at that time.

Then at the 1960s comes Black Power. Mulattoes Identity Crisis in Pre-American Civil War Slavery Based on Kate Chopin’s Desiree’s Baby

A mulatto is a term to refer to a person that born form parents with different race background, either one is white or black. A mulatto also refers to a person that born from mulatto parent or parents. Because of they have mixed ancestry, it is possible to a mulatto offspring to have the quality of both parents (ex: having natural curly blonde hair and white skin).

            In slavery pre-American civil war, master of slaves had rights “to do whatever they want” to their slaves. It was because of laws that abode, one example is Lousiana law, 1724:

“Louisiana, 1724 – "The slave who, having struck his master, his mistress, or the husband of his mistress, or their children, shall have produced a bruise, or the shedding of blood in the face, shall suffer capital punishment”

            So, according to that law, a slave did not have power to resist any order from their master. Even in Virginia, a slave could have been killed only by resisting their masters’ order. Because of those reason, a slave had to abide everything their master ordered, even for intercourse (for woman slaves). If a woman slave had a child from their master, the offspring was listed as slave as their mother was, also considered a “property” of their master. Because of this, a child slave could also be traded or sold (so as losing their name).

            A free slave often stood with family or person who freed them, either had no place to heading to or have to pay “debt”. A free slave also bear the name of person that free them (ex: Solomon Northup). A free slave also considered as family member.

Desiree's Baby is is the short story about the baby who adopted by Monsieur and Madame Valmonde, French family who lived in Louisiana America. When Desiree grown up, she married with another French guy, Armand. they married and have a child, but the child has a different skin, the child has a black skin, not too black, one quarter African skin.

One of highlights of the short story desiree’s baby, is time and the circumstances that described the events of the story, one of them is Antebellum period.It was a periode in the history of the southern United states also well known for European history in the region began in the very earliest days of the exploration and colonization of North America,Spain,France, and England eventually explored and claimed parts of what is now the southern United states.From the late 18th century until start of American civil war in 1861 which ended slavery in the United states and destroyed much of the economic landscape of the south,marked by the economic growth of the south,based on slavery driven plantation farming.

  At the time in Louisiana is also the the age of miscegenation, where it is the attitude that rejects the discrimination race relations,including in the case of mixed marriages between difference races,this attitude is maintaining racial purity, and do everything possible in order not contaminate by interbreeding between races.The etymology of the word is tied up with political conflicts during the American Civil wars over the abolition of slavery and over the racial segregation of African-Americans.

As long as i read desiree's story it had a places that take an era  mention on it without any information further but it is okay because this story released back then in 1892 and people on that time seems understand what its related to. At first many people maybe thinking that the place where story begin is on Paris because of character names who mentioned first is a type of France people name, but its actually happens in america and it is explain why some of the text talks about "black" or "white" skin (racist). The main problem is how you tried to understand the storyline because at first time i misunderstanding with the story. Just like i said the story mention places that you need to learn about it and even Kate Chopin know specific places on her story just like she seemed experienced how slavery is. the biggest thing that really have a great effects is how racists and slavery explain the major problem with gimmick on the story is a "pride" of armand who reject desiree's when he knows that she or her baby is have a slave blood just because her baby is a boy that makes armand accept it because of a gender that his baby can continue family "name" or "bussiness".

 in any fictional story or describe a period or era. have we think of the era in every story may describe an event that will occur in the future or maybe it was just fiction.

 in the year of the 2889 is a short story depicting the life of modern fiction, although written in the past, but there are some technologies that are similar, or the same as the state of their environment lifetimes in our current time.Like the newspaper about the news, phobetelephone which is similar as video phone in the our time.

     In the Year 2889 is the short stories by Jules Verne, talking about the condition in future when the future different like the past. The plot in the first paragraph is regressive because the narrator is talked about the era before this time (in 2889). We can see in the plot, sometimes the plot is progressive or regressive.

In the year 2889 is a short story by Jules Verne that bring us how is technology grow in a many year, although it just a short story but it feel likes full of context but also I feel like there is no main character but we are just bringing in to a dialogue of some character that explain their daily life and technology involved on it for example this is text from the story “The first thing that Mr. Smith does is to connect his phonotelephote, the wires of which communicate with his Paris mansion. The telephote! Here is another of the great triumphs of science in our time. The transmission of speech is an old story; the transmission of images by means of sensitive mirrors connected by wires is a thing but of yesterday”. The point is we can look what is the character talk about on a dialogue or narrative text.

Plot in the story required reader to think how or what the story in this case is a narrator try to tell to the audience. So many book have a plot like a flashback or foreshadowing in a different paragraph but on this book both of it can be joined in one paragraph, flashback to the past and then compare it to the year 2889 or before it.

Modernism, in general, includes the activities and creations of those who felt the traditional forms of art, architecture, literature, religious faith, philosophy, social organization, activities of daily life, and even the sciences, were becoming ill-fitted to their tasks and outdated in the new economic, social, and political environment of an emerging fully industrialized world.

Modernism include a reform movement in art, literature, music, architecture and applied arts.This movement is also characterized by the involvement of the business of science and technology into every aspect of life.Modernism bring reform in all areas of life, including philosophy, commerce, arts, and literature with the help of technology.Postmodernism means, 'after modernism'. This movement is a reaction to modernism influenced by the disappointment caused by World War II.Postmodernism refers to the state which has no central hierarchy, are ambiguous, and diverse.Developments in society, economy, and culture in the 1960s greatly influenced by postmodernism.

 Modernism began in 1890 and lasted until about 1945. Postmodernism began after World War II, especially after 1968.Modernism is based on the use of reason and logical thought to acquire knowledge. On the other hand, postmodernism opposes the use of logical thinking.Thought during the era of postmodernism is based on the basis of an unscientific and irrational thought processes as a reaction to modernism.The nature of hierarchical and organized as well as science and technology marks the determination of modernism. Instead, postmodernism is based on anarchism, non-totalitarian, and uncertainty.The approach modernism is objective, theoretical, and analytical; while postmodernism approach is based on subjectivity. Another fundamental difference between modernism and postmodernism is that the thought of modernism revolves around an abstract search for truth in life, while postmodernism thinkers believe that there is no universal truth.

Romanticism's essential spirit was one of revolt against an established order of things-against precise rules, laws, dogmas, and formulas that characterized Classicism in general and late18th-century Neoclassicism in particular.
